BCI’s hospitality construction sector snapshot report in Asia captures the total number and value of active projects across the region, as of April 2024. 

As reported by BCI, from April 2023 to April 2024, there has been a decline in the number of design applications approved in the hospitality sector across seven key Asian markets: Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. This decline corresponds with the decrease in the number of design applications submitted, with just under 620 hospitality construction projects receiving approval within the last 12 months. 

CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS IN THE HOSPITALITY SECTOR 

Across BCI’s project coverage in Asia, there are currently over 2,700 active projects in the hospitality sector. A breakdown by country shows Vietnam has the most active hospitality projects (over 1,200), while the next highest number can be found in the Philippines at over 400 projects.
