Where in the world are you and what do you do?
My name is Ellen Boucher, and I am a Business Development Manager for Archify within the BCI Central group. I recently relocated from the UK to Sydney, Australia.
What brought you to BCI?
I’ve recently moved across the Byggfakta Group, where I was working as a Senior Business Development Manager at NBS. My partner was offered a role here in Sydney and we decided to move “down under”! I was extremely fortunate that I was able to transfer over to Archify and be welcomed with such open arms. I am excited to be able to develop my career in New Business Sales in a new market and continent.
What do you enjoy most about your role?
I am lucky to be in a position that offers a lot of flexibility; I am in charge of my own working day and working week. Within sales, you need to be quite self-motivated, so I enjoy tapping into my competitive streak and desire to succeed. Nothing beats the feeling of finding the perfect fit for a client and closing a sale!
Who inspires you in your career?
Karren Brady, a British business executive and entrepreneur, is an inspirational figure to me. As the former Managing Director of Birmingham City Football Club, Karren proves that with hard work and determination you can become a leader in your field in a male dominated industry.
What is the best career advice you have ever received?
Sales can have a lot of highs and lows; hearing “no” is quite a common setback. It’s important to not take it personally. I like to think that a rejection in sales can often simply mean “Not now”. I enjoy finding a solution that meets the client’s needs at the right time for their business.
