Life at BCI: Rogelio Hortizuela

We spoke to Rogelio Hortizuela who is celebrating 10 years with BCI Central!

“I believe that paying close attention to details, not just with BCI projects but also in your work overall, is fundamental to finding success.”

What is your role at BCI?

I am the Research Coordinator for our Victoria team. One of my responsibilities is to ensure we maintain our high-quality research standards; this includes via editing projects prior to publishing them and doing random project checks with monthly quality monitoring sheets. I also provide research support for the Division Manager and for our Research Manager based in Australia.

What do you enjoy most about your position?

What I enjoy the most about my role is the research aspect. I am very meticulous when it comes to project details, so checking and editing project data is really enjoyable work for me. I believe that paying close attention to details, not just with BCI projects but also in work overall, is fundamental to finding success.

What achievements are you most proud of?

On BCI’s 20th anniversary, I received the Leadership Award: that was my first year as a Team Leader. I worked hard to motivate myself and my teammates to do our best, so being recognised for those efforts was the best feeling ever. I am forever grateful to BCI for acknowledging my potential and rewarding my contributions to the company.

Can you share with us a favourite memory from your time at BCI?

To be able to work with amazing colleagues and, at the same time, forge long-lasting friendships is something I will forever treasure.
